Party Reflections Greensboro Hosts Triad Bridal Association Meeting

When the opportunity arose to host the Triad Bridal Association’s June 26th meeting, our Party Reflections Greensboro team was happy to oblige.  Early in the planning process, we met with Don Freedman, the association president, to walk our showroom and warehouse to finalize the meeting flow and concept.  Given that we specialize in rentals, it was decided that the evening would include a program focused on current trends and feature an experiential exercise for attendees.

The task of transforming a working warehouse into a venue is no small task.  Leading up to the event install, our team was busy rearranging inventory and cleaning the space.  Large fans were staged throughout the area to disperse the warm, June air.  Market lights were strung from rack to rack to light to way to the meeting.

The first portion of the evening involved members and guests networking while enjoying delicious bites and tasty sips provided by Pepper Moon Catering and Edible Artistry in the rear of the warehouse.  The focal point of the room was the new Edison table with a whitewashed wood top and metal frame.  The entire design of the event centered around the introduction of this new table in our inventory.  ABBA Design provided the gorgeous floral arrangements to complete the look.  Perfectly paired with our Sunny Kaleidoscope, Sunny Stripe, Charcoal Panama linens and Holden Whitewash Chairs, the design highlighted many elements of the current Industrial Chic trend.

Following the networking segment, attendees were seated as Don welcomed everyone and introduced the speaker.  Maurisa Beaver, Party Reflections’ Chief Culture Officer, prepared a 20-minute presentation focused on Creativity, Design and Inspiration.  In the special events industry, it is important to stay abreast of the current trends however it is equally important to have design, creativity and inspiration as pillars of the work we all do for our clients.  Maurisa’s presentation touched on tapping into one’s creative spirit, thinking outside of the box when it comes to the design process and highlighting sources of inspiration that can be found everywhere.

With inspiration and design in mind, the program transitioned to a team based exercise in which attendees were assigned a current trend and challenged to design a table set for 8 guests.  The selected trends were; Woodlands/Rustic, Geometric/Preppy, Vintage/Romantic and Formal/Metallic.  Each team had numerous options of linens, napkins, chargers, china, glassware, flatware and chairs to choose from in order to create their tabletop design.  In addition to creating the overall look of the table, teams were also asked to answer questions that would complete the event concept.  Such as creating a menu, describing floral and décor options as well as possible guest favors.  At the conclusion of the meeting, all teams shared their design and overall concept with the group.

The next day, three of the team designs were selected and slightly modified to be featured in the showroom for the upcoming quarter.  The linen selected for the 4th design was in the current showroom display and therefore could not be repeated.  We were thrilled to incorporate the creativity and design inspiration that Triad Bridal Association Members came up with at the meeting.  This is a win win for Party Reflections Greensboro and the market we serve.  We can showcase new products such as the Carbon Mirage linen, the Blush Velvet linen and the Charcoal Hudson 8” plate and the talent of Triad event professionals.
